It can add some analog "sheen" but needing the extra inputs or avoiding pulling cables a 100 times a week are really the primary factors. Most pre-amps that are outboard will likely add a bit that analog character themselves and it's vinyl so it kinda sorts itself no matter the digital on the receiving end. So if the interface has all the ins you need yeah just go the simpler route.

ok so i know this is a completely diff question I'm trying to make my first beat on this I was wondering when using the browser on the mpc is there a way to open different folders via the mpc studio like go back and forth to different folders?

Yes, there is.

The buttons above your jog wheel allow you to do that (Orange Text) with up to 5 file locations. See page 33 in your manual for more information on it.
