Any useful ways to use Maschine VST within the MPC DAW?

Has anyone found any useful or clever ways to use the Maschine VST within the Ren/Studio software?

With most of my multi-timbral plugins, I can load 16 instruments and assign each instrument a MIDI channel. I can use the same plugin on 16 MPC tracks and select instruments by assigning a MIDI channel to that track.

Is this possible using Maschine?

Prior to the 1.4 update, Maschine was crashing the MPC Ren so I never really got to use it. I'll probably check it out again soon and post back. I'm really thinking about using it as a "Rack" of sorts with a built in sequencer.

Instruments where I know I need to have some FX and automate them could be done with Maschine most likely. So my plan is to try and use it as a multi plugin Instrument and FX rack.

There's a couple of ways you can use Maschine inside of the REN. 1st you can setup Maschine as a drum program (with up to 128 drum sounds with individual effects)is and use one drum sound per track in the REN, secondly you could use an instrument or drum sound (in Maschine) and then use Maschine's powerful series routing system shape the sound in a massive way. I believe you can also use Maschine as an effects module which will give you a lot more effect routing or sound shaping options than the Renaissance by itself.

Then, can Logic host Maschine, while Maschine hosts the REN, to trigger and record (midi) REN's sounds via/ into Logic's sequencer?

MaschineFX as Multi-Effects in Ren. Allows me to use my stock Maschine FXs and any other NI Fxs on samples within the Ren.

What I would like to do is to load multiple drum kits and instruments within a single instance of Maschine. Assign each drum kit or instrument to a MIDI channel. Then insert the Maschine VST on several of the Ren's tracks. Set each Ren track to a specific MIDI channel to select the drum kit or instrument that will be recorded on that track. Is this possible?

Or would I have to just use multiple instances of Maschine VST inside the Ren?

Yes you can use Maschine as a multitimbral VST (like Kontakt), here's a video explaining it. The video doesn't have me verbally explaining things but I thing everything is pretty much self explanatory but if there is something else that you need me to explain then let me know.
Also be advised that there is a kind of loud sound at 30 seconds in, I unintentionally hit a low note snare sample and it lingered for about 5 seconds or so.

note: I fixed the loud sound, it is no longer there.

When using Maschine as a multitimbral VST make sure you set your root note so that it will line up with the pads on the Ren (see the video on my previous post).

Gonna watch this video when I get home. Really interesting discussion.
Been wondering if I could use maschine inside the Ren as there is lots I like about my maschine just not the seq

I'm glad you guys are pushing the envelope using this, inside of that, inside of something else. Maybe I'm really just a simpleton after all...Havent even had a chance to play with Maschine yet.

Takes seconds to setup that makes me really happy seems to be working well.

There is so much I like about maschine its nice to get that inside the mpc seq

You are very welcome, and you're right there are a bunch of possibilities. I think it would be great if there was a separate thread that just covers the different ways to use the Ren (and that includes using Maschine inside of the Ren). For example, when I had the MPC4000 this guy at the GC showed me how to use a sine wave to create a 808 bass sound, another guy who had a MPC2000 created an echo delay sound using the 16 velocity feature. I know we all have different levels of knowledge about the MPCs but I'm sure we all could contribute.
