Why the 2000? And two other Q's

What's good, y'all?

I've been making beats with FL for a minute now and I've decided to move over to hardware -- not because I'm trying to hop on the MPC bandwagon, but I just like the whole "hands-on feel" -- its more comfortable for me.

Now to my questions:

1. Why are the 2000 model MPCs in such high demand? Is it because all the big producers use it and everyone wants to be like them? Or is there something that the 2000 models offer that the older models don't and the newer models discarded?

I'm not the type of person who would buy something just because everyone else has it -- so unless there is something that truly makes the 2000 stand out, I just don't understand.

2. Since I've never used an MPC extensively, I didn't really learn much from reading each model's specifications -- can someone with experience tell me the hip-hop producer's difference between the 1000, 2000 and 4000 models? Please be real.

3. What do you think of the MV-8000?

If you are serious about choppin up beats, mastering them, laying down demos, laying down vocals, and all that jazz - pick it up! Spend that chedda! Finance it if you have to! Roland will only make this model for so long and you can use it as the your one and only piece of equipment. All you need is your turntable and your MV8000...nothing more - nothing less.... MAD "mainstream" producers back it up - not because they want to be "in the know," but because mainstream heads (although many times wack) have been in the game for a minute and know a good thing when they see one...........

i think its up to you. i use the 2000 and love it. i think it all depends on what the producer wants to do. the xl and the 2000 are almost the same besides several more features on the xl. not sure what made me choose the 2000. the studio i frequent used the 2000 so that helped me choose.
