Can get one for £75GBP not sure if its going to be total cheese or a good investment alongside the mpc. I have a decent laptop with vsti but the price and the fact I always wanted one when I was younger.

I had a chance to get mo phatt or turbo phatt. I too wanted one since forever ago. I went with Turbo phatt for many reasons.

Here's the difference if you care about to read.

Still mo phatt is very useable. First thing I did was obtain the extra roms though. Nothing wrong with having more sounds.

well his mo phatt is dead.

Hes instead offering me the proteus 1000 with composer card?. heard of the proteus but never heard anything about the composer.

Shame as the mo phatt was pretty dope

I had the composer once. very much ideal for bread and butter sounds. strings, pads, keys etc but nothing fancy and nothing as urban as the mo phatt

yeah going to have scour some demos, the proteus is more towards dance stuff right?.

I'd pass on any Proteus with just the stock 'Composer' ROM. The words 'predictable' and 'boring' spring to mind, unless you plan on scoring TV commercials any time soon.

then work out a deal where he puts the PHATT rom from the dead unit inside of the proteus1000 instead... it would be the same thing just with a black casing instead of purple.

Mo phatt and Proteus 1k are the same hardware just different roms.
You have 2 slots for rom in there, 1 already has the composer, cool, ask him to sell you the mo phatt rom also. Then you can max out you module. Emu roms are floating around the net for sale everywhere. Pure phatt and Beat garden are the ones I always end up dialing in.

Those sound modules are still pretty damn powerful imo.

Gettin schooled by Crossings had me wanting to get the most outta my module.
Thanks for the insight Cross.

Oh and don't trust demo's.

Rom is dead, ok.

Get the proteus, cop another rom from ebay so you can max out the internals (2 rom slots).Maybe you can sell off the composer rom if you dont like it and cop another rom later ya know.
