Hello friends, first time post.

I manage to buy an old mpc 2000 for a sweet price, but the problem is that there is no light on the screen. The screen is ok, no stripes,no damage etc, but the light is just off.

Do you know how/where can i replace for a new light?

ps: also it didn“t come with the power button cap, i have to put my finger on it to be able to turn it on.anyone know where can i buy the cap?

Thank you for your help!

When the light is OFF most probably the inverter PCB board is damaged, replacing that first it is your best option before trying replacing the backlight.

About the cap, when the cap is not present bet it is because where the cap goes it is broken, so having the cap will not fix the issue unless you replace the whole power switch PCB board.

The best option is to first measure the AC output of the inverter to see if it's functioning. No need to order parts at random if you don't end up needing them.

While a bad inverter could be the issue, I have seen far more bad CCFL tubes and broken CCFL wires than damaged inverter boards.

Replacement CCFL tubes are available at electronics distributors such as Mouser (P/N 560-BF3100-20B)

It's rare for the backlight bulbs or the inverters in a 2k to pack up

This fault normally occurs when unhelpful hands have been inside.

Check cables from motherboard to inverter are not damaged or have dry solder joins

Check the inverter in and outs with a multi meter and that will determine fault

If you need parts or repair just let me know
