Sequence edit window?

I've used a 2000xl for a couple years, and just got a 1000 on a trade and I had a question on the sequence edit window. on the 2000xl when you went to sequence edit, you would only see the notes at that time signature, e.g. on 1:00 you'd only see the kick, and on 2:00 the snare, ect. On the 1000 I can only get it to show me all events. So you'll see that same kick and the snare in the same window with the times listed beside them. Is there a way to change this view? Some times I think something is in the correct spot because I'm used to only seeing what notes are at that time of the sequence. I how this makes sense. I have the free jjos on it, but I was thinking about upgrading, but I'm not 100% sure which version I should get yet.

Do you see there (step edit) in an upper right corner tab "ALL" ? there you can choose individual pads by jog wheel or hiting pad, I don't remember exactly, but it supossed to be there.

The options for that window don't do what i want. The give me the option of seeing all events, specific notes, program changes, ect. but it doesn't just let me see the events just at the time interval. I can't only see the notes at 1:00 or 2:00 ect. it will show everything. Maybe it's just not able to do this. I'm getting a little more used to it, but i miss the option that the 2000xl had. sigh

ah sorry, I didn't read you right. No, there is no such view on 1000. About JJOS, all are great step forward from free os, you can put demo version of any OS and check it (fully functional except saving).

get all the benefit from that and switch to jjosxl2.....

I was thinking about upgrading my jjos, but i'm still looking thru the website to find all the differences. Some of them sound very interesting, but some of the features are not well defined on their site. I've been combing thru the boards here, looking at peoples feedback on the operating systems, but still have some research to do. I've only had my 1000 for about two weeks, so i'm still learning the new machine. What are your main reasons to upgrade? what are the key features you find are better in the jjosxl or os3? Not sure which version i'd find more useful.

2xl vs 3, that's a less clear choice.

But both are miles ahead of the stock OS or the free jjos.

There's plenty of new features, like audio tracks (the free jjos audio tracks is really limited), pattern mode, etc.

But a lot of it is just an overall better user interface and workflow. He's fit many more features in what is overall a more usable program.
