Silence before sample, after trim

Silence before sample, after trim

Recently noticed that even after trimming start points to the earliest transient, there appears to be a gap of a few milliseconds before the first transient of the same sample.
eg: trim samples, record program, tighten things up with click, re-trim

I'm on JJ OS1 on the MPC1000. Any suggestions or explanations why?
