Insert Effects removing ≈ 3 dB

Hi!

I was wondering why every time I apply an Insert Effect on a Pad, the sound drops ≈ 3 dB, whether it's Reverb, Delay, Autopan, etc.

Because those are time based effects. It's just the nature of those type of effects. The more Wet the setting, the more you hear the effect and the less of the original sound you hear. If you go more Dry on the effect, you lessen the effect and hear more of the original signal. The best way to avoid this issue with these types of effects is to use a send instead of an insert. Insert the effect on one of the aux channels and use a send on the original track to send the signal to the effects channel. Then just use the send gain or the aux channel gain to blend the effect in. This way you always hear the full original signal and the effect is just added in the background. FYI, when using sends for these types of effects/setup, you want the effect setting all the way Wet.

Thanks! I'll try that soon. Being on the MPC 1000 for so long, I never tried Sends before... Didn't know how they work...

Then it should be easy to use the Send FXs. It is pretty straight forward and in the manual.

Yep... Same thing as usual: the Flange effect.

The reason why I thought I didn't know how to use the Sends, it's because every time I tried the Sends, I got a strange Flange effect...

I'm still having that effect now after checking the video out.

Use the MPC software in standalone and plugin mode. Select a send effect in your DAW on an MPC plugin track and compare the results with the use of the same effect in the standalone MPC software. Do you get different results? Can you post a video of your issue?
