swing % on main screen hardware

please could we have swing % on the main screen so you can change while using note
repeat. it very handy on the 4000 it would be simple to add

The developers took a very close look at the swing of hardware MPCs. They found that there isn't anything different between the available MPC models.

Personally, I think those Track activity indicators in the upper right screen takes up valuable space. Time Dive, Swing %, Time Signature, Track On/Off, Click/Count On/Off, etc are params found on the Main Screen of 1 or more legacy MPCs that I would prefer over the Track Activity indicators. I feel those activity indicators would be better suited in a hidden menu that you would use the [Window] button to access.

I agree 100 %. To be frank, I don't even understand the activity indicators... Never needed them either.

They let you know if there are events on any given track. But they are way too small in my opinion to really be useful. This is an MPC 5000 feature brought over to the Ren. The huge difference is that the 5Ks LCD is significantly larger than the Ren's.

This is true in the sense of there is no magical fairytale stuff going on with swing on any hardware/Computer sequencer. However the feel of swing is affected by the sequencers clock resolution. An MPC60/3000 clock @ 96 ppqn will sound a little different from something at 1096+. Essentially the swung notes on a lower res seqeuncer Vs the higher res one fall on positions that are at slightly different. Its interesting the MPC 4000 has a low resolution mode. Those original Akai boys knew what they were doing.

+1 for swing from the hardware controller - and it should be in real time. Whilst were at it let us change the resolution of the internal clock as low as 96 ppqn. At least in stand alone mode.

There are other timing issues with early MPCs, such as the MPC3000, and possibly later models as well, that prevent simultaneous sequenced sounds from being output at exactly the same time.

I suspect this might play a little known part of what is the MPC timing/swing legend.

Who are those original Akai boys? The creators of the MPC 3000 and MPC 4000 are different people I believe.

You actually want a 96 qqpn mode? You feel that actually makes a significant difference?
