i have heard all kind of opinions, i don't have a ren yet or a studio was gonna buy one this month but i have to be honest i am disappointed that after so many months i hear that 1.4 is not what it should.

i was assuming that being a 64 bit now it will be rock solid stable but i hear that this is not the case.

i might be making wrong cause i assume people who are happy about it will prefer to make music than to write on forum.still i even saw a topic that undo button even now doesn't work properly which i found to be amazing and sad.

anyway please vote so we all can have a conclusion and for god sakes be polite with each other.

thank you.

I'd say if you've been thinking of getting a Ren/Studio, it's safe to do it now (I wouldn't have said that until 1.4).
You can make bomb-ass music with it, and I'd say the last update showed that they're putting in some serious work.

thank you for the answer fanu

in greece can't return a hardware when you have used it first.
so i am very worried.

it seems with every update that for anything that is fixed two-three things are broken.

is it true that the undo button still doesn't work?

i hear not only in this forum but generally people complain that their ren is crashing even more.
what's your experience on this?

i am really curious about the 2 out of 8 people who have voted that their mpc crashes more...can you please tell me the specs of your pcs.

also if you make the trouble to answer can you please specify if you use the ren or studio.

thank you.

I think this is a pretty solid update, but the work flow slows down or comes to a complete halt when it comes time to exporting or working with other DAW's. Which for me is very crippling to productivity.. But other than that... It definitely has a lot of features i've been waiting for.

I feel that 1.4 SHOULD HAVE been what 1.1 WAS NOT... basically

still a lot work needs to be done, the software runs solid at times, but at other times it gets real buggy, still crashes time to time, freezes up, things like undo and just saving a project sometimes give you completely random results.

Besides that, I have managed to finish and bounce out a few complete projects without problems but still now and then the software has problems, I lose work, or things malfunction.

I think most of the problems causes by user..faulty installation..unstabile os (never defragmented or so on)..
I really have no problems with my Ren and i have AMD Athlon x2 +6400 with 2 gigs of ram and Some Ati graphix card..That is almost minimum specs..

Only thing im really waiting is non-destructive sample chopping and step/grid edit..
There is lot of improvements AKAI could make but no necessary for my workflow..

The less you got the creative you get..

The one feature I still miss most is the link between hardware peak reset (LCD screen) and software peak reset. Until now I still have to press "Reset Peak" on the Ren as well as in the software both.

Slaving doesn't work quite as well as expected, too, but at least the MIDI Clock issues have been addressed.

Furthermore, the font went smaller. Looks slenderer on small screen, but it's a pain in the buttocks on larger ones above 20".

Nonetheless, a very good update with lots of nice features. I dig the double tapping thing and waveform display (overview and LCD) most. I don't need 64 bit, and the auto save annoys me at times, but to be honest, I didn't check out 1.4 as often as I'd like to.

Option #2 for me.

results are mixed, i mean obviously most people are happy with the update and they are not dissapointed with the product but they are not extremely happy as well with it, too much work to be done.also for the cost ren has right now 17% of people whos mpcs are less stable is a very high percent.i propable will wait till the next mpc update drops, see what happens and buy it then, or if this don't make mpc ren rock solid i will wait for mpc ren ii. till then i will stick to software.thank you everybody for voting, you really helped me very much.

p.s. to the mods, don't know how to lock this, no need to remain open.
