I'm shaking my head right now bruh,

Talked to a Akai tech the other day about future MPC "plugins" and he was clueless bruh...

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the WUB,noise,808 and the rest of the shit that came with the ren, but come on bro, 99% of those sounds are BS

If they had focused more on the quality plugins, the Ren would have made a greater impact and game changer.

Ball dropped via Akai

The MPC is and always will be a sampler/sequencer first! There are tons of 3rd party vst's and better plug-ins out there. At least it's a step forward being able to utilize them. If you've been an MPC head 10 plus years you'd have to sample everything in or use external hardware for extra sounds. I agree that I don't care for the stock instruments either, but the workflow on this joint is a lot better than the older machines IMO.

They should have joined forces with some major "synth software company" and added some REAL credible - workable sounds via plugin.

That shit is not stock, those sounds included in the software has no meaningful place in commercial music unless you are creating music for robots

Those stock MPC software sounds suck bruh....

i think what they did miss was giving people a way of creating their own instruments
hopefully they will get round to this and we can have constant supply of sounds created by the user base.

but yeah plugins are waff i wasn't expecting much any how

Did they ever announce they were going to add more soundpacks or something? :hmmm:

Dont know why you're mad lol, they're plenty of soundkits all over the net, free too.
Do some digging, they're there, trust me. lol

Instability of 3rd party plugins? or instability of the mpc software?
I have not had one problem out of using about 20 different plugins into ableton live..
AKAI MPC Software froze on every one of these:
Tal Elektro & more for their stuff
Sylenth1
3XOSC
Massive
FM8
Absynth
Scarlett Reverb
Scarlett Compressor
Scarlett EQ & more stuff i rarely use

Ok maybe not 20.. but you know what im saying. It's not the plugins that's the issue.

Anyways, the plugins and filters given by AKAI are great. You just have to know how to use them. Every instrument requires time.. learning curve. Stepping into a world of custom sound-design isn't for everyone. Some people just don't have the patience or the ears to custom design a sound that majority of people's ears will find attractive. If this is you, sythesizers aren't for you then. Sampling and working with already produced sounds is perfect for you. Now you just have to have a good ear at tweaking it.

Every sound is a workable sound. You just need to know how to tweak them.

In the end, plugins are plugins just as how midi is midi. Generally, just the amount of RAM usage is different. A plugin is either 0% compatible or 100% compatible.

Akai needs a better programming team. I don't know how their development works, but as of right now, you can do more than what the MPC Renn & MPC Studio can do with just Ableton live (using ableton's sampler & impulse 4x4 drum plugin). You can chop, insert VST's into a single pad, layer samples, change bpm on the fly, etc.

No they don't. They shouldn't release more plugins for free. What they need to do for long term is to fix all the bugs right now for the price of the controller. Trying to sign a contract to hire a plugin programmer OR have their own team make a plugin (however they work about this), it'll most likely take more time to fix the little bugs that's we're stuck with.

If they add more instruments & sounds.. it'll just attract more new buyers. And you would now spend less time learning per instrument, which means less skill.

Learn the plugins that you have & work for now.

Not sure what you're in a hurry for..

Read your post over and over and you make sense my friend :)

Still I think my rant is valid.

It is totally valid. Atleast they are releasing new updates though..

Akai will stay in business regardless. It's Numark.. and Akai has a good niche.

sorry but i disagree with you guys...
they should keep their focus on the daw instead of the content...
do you guys really need an akai synth ?

why paying for useless content? do you use the tons of gigabyte libarys that comes with a daw like cubase or studio one ? the a1 was the only synth that i ever likeed from cubase...

and that was programmed from waldorf....

Remember: what this forum is about is a sampler. Not a rompler, not a synth. A sampler.
Keep in mind what that's supposed to do and who's supposed to be feeding the sounds into it.

Begging for a company that's made the sampler to provide sounds for it is a bit too much. You can do it yourself; the net is full of sample packs, and life in general is a big sample pack.
