MPC 4000 load help Please...

Have you bothered to work through the steps I've suggested or am I wasting my time trying to help you out?

OK guys iv posted a short video on youtube concerning my issue please check it out if youd like maybe getting an actual visual can help us pin point this issue

Yes I have Coz im still getting nothing I could be not fully comprehending your info and if so I apologize for that Im more of a visual person things tend to sink in better when I can see it

It was difficult to see what was going on by watching your video on my phone. One thing I did notice is that you were hitting the pads on an unused track.

For the sake of ruling out the obvious, load the same project and try the pads on a used track.

still nothing..

Take up Jim's offer of help. He will probably be able to troubleshoot the problem pretty quickly.

This is my final post here. If this works then you really need to watch all the videos on YouTUBE regarding the MPC4000. If it doesn't then as suggested before, call me...

Are your pads routed to the sequencer or to somewhere else? PAGE 78 Manual

Press [MIDI]

look at the routing screen.

You will see MIDI in-I, MIDI in-II and Drum pad

Make sure that Drum pad is set to SEQUENCER in the Destination field.

Watching your video I could not see the screen clear enough to determine what was going on.

I just watched the video again and can see that your 4K is loading with a Program and Part(s).

As well as following what everyone else has said, carry out these few steps to the letter and see what happens...


1. Turn the machine on.
2. On Track 1 in Sequence 1, cursor down to the bottom of the Main screen and highlight 'Program 1'.
3. Spin the Jog left or right and a popup Program List screen appears.
4. Program 1 will be selected by default in this screen.
5. Press F6 (SELECT)
6. Program 1 should now be linked to Part 1.

7. Now go into Load and select a single sound (not a full project) to load.
8. Audition the sound with F4 to make sure it plays.
9. Now press F6 (DO IT)
10. The 'Load A Sample' popup should appear.
11. Press pad 1 in Pad Bank A to assign the sample and press F6 (ADD PROG)
12. Do you now hear the sample when you return to the Main screen and hit the pad?

Ok coz will try just got to work as of now hopefully will be a half day for me so I will try when I get home

HELL YEA IAN!!!!!! that was the issue!!!!! something so f-ing simple! Thank you guys so much for everything!!!!! wow I cant believe that had me stumped for about 4 days lol again THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!!!!!!

LMAO totally did the same thing when I got it working lol

Just double check that the pads are working as they should be. The weird interference in your vid suggests that the previous user may have disabled them for a reason.

Everything seems to be running great Im pretty sure I set it that way dicking around and ended up causing the issue myself lol. Just recorded some stuff and Saved into a new folder and reloaded up everything and working perfectly! EXCEPT!..... Think my note repeat button is shot but thats about it. Its not lighting up or doing anything when I press it and hold a pad. Thats an easy fix unless the board for it is shot. Everything else works though Q-link, Pad Assign, 16 Levels and Erase are all working.

One problem down... several hundred to go! Yay!

I still think the 4K is the perfect upgrade for old XL users.
