Dude at Guitar Center forced me to get a extra warranty on this damn controller. Now I feel like I been biotch bruh.

Dude was talking about a treasure trove of " what if's " that could happen to the ren, like being dropped, acts of God, some fool spilling Malt Liqueur on it etc....

Sounded good at the time, now I think it was unnecessary expenditure .

I don't create music in a crack dens, frolic in frat houses or do beats outside in the rain, the way I see it is they got me for me loot bruh

take it back for a full refund... then buy another one w/o warranty if you really feel like playing the beta-testing game... GC will try to sell you a warranty even on cables... that's how they make commission.

although i've already seen some RENs literally fall apart here in less than a year... broken buttons or becoming unresponsive to the software... so who knows... maybe a warranty isn't such a bad idea after all... hardly looks like they're designed to last a full 3 years. even the mpc1000 starts having failing buttons in less than that with average use.

I'd keep it. I had to have my first Ren replaced when I first got it due to a faulty Q Link encoder. ES-K had his for 6 months and has a broken tap tempo button and play button. Another guy on here has a dead pad light already. If you don't think these things will happen to you, you should be able to go back and have the warranty refunded without having to return the entire MPC as long as you ware within 30 days of purchase.

Yup! I never buy it though! It's not their fault either. The corporation forces them to try to shove that down peoples throats. I used to work at Sears selling TV's and electronics and they used to force us to do the same shit to people! The commission ain't even all that!

Is anyone else confused by the back to front frown in the subject field?

That sales rep used the oldest trick in the book when it comes to selling insurance. Paint a picture of what could be and despair and let the mind of the "victim" do the rest.

Don't feel bad, 15% of people do this.

If you can afford it then I would keep the 3 year warranty, I remember when I had my MPC4000 I got the 3 year warranty and it was 2 1/2 years later I had a problem with the pads sticking and so I was able to get the pads replaced. Usually I don't get warranties but if I have a feeling that I might need it then I will get it.

i gotta admit i miss my ren i bit lol.. can't wait for it to come back from repairs..

despite all the frustrations.. its bittersweet.

been having fun with the 404 by itself though

anyways, i'd say just keep the warranty ... you never know!!! i was NOT hitting the play button hard and it caved in.. so yea

If you don't want it just say no. They always offer it to me and I just say no thanks I'm good. If they persist (which I fully expect. Is their job) I say no one last time. If they are rude enough to continue (never happens) I'd just say no thanks ill buy the device somewhere else. They won't let a sale walk away.

And honestly, if you can spare the money, an extended warranty is never a "Bad" idea. Especially on a device you will be spending a lot of time.
