After a while of straight sampling I thought I should test out the midi capabilites of this thing. For this beat I did all the sequencing with the MPC with a midi keyboard connected controlling several VSTs inside Reaper without syncing or anything. After I was done recording my tracks I recorded the midi information that triggered all sounds into Reaper with the use of track mutes to do some live arranging. Sometimes I hit the track mutes too soon and it cut off the pitch bend.
I have to say that I really love the workflow the MPC500 gives me when hitting out quick ideas. It's so much more intuitive. And 16 midi tracks is plenty for my midi needs!
This beat is nothing special as it's not mixed or anything! Just wanted to show how well the MPC500 handles midi!
yeah i been using it similarly, but just with a hardware synthesizer or two. now when i open up Ableton, which i used to use exclusively, i can't even start doing anything cuz the MPC workflow is so much more smooth to me. anyway here's a beat i did all arranged by the mpc, controlling a hardware synth via MIDI
