I know people sample off of youtube, etc, but for something that you'd want to release (not just practice/fun stuff) assuming its a rip from a CD or DVD, is the sound quality good enough?

Are there any sites where you can pull up specific songs that are better quality? (audio only is fine obviously) Thanks.

fvck no... the quality is ass and you know it... hence your question.

the answer to your question regarding better quality?... go to a record store and buy used LPs or even CDs and sample it yourself.

Thanks, I guy can hope, I know they upgraded the quality a while back, so was hoping it was getting to a usable level. Oh well. I sample CDs/records a lot but some stuff is impossible to find but on youtube...

download high quality WAV or FLAC files instead... there are numerous peer to peer or torrent options out there if you're looking for other people's rips...
