Any Trick to saving FX settings on PGM?

I'm having a bit of an issue saving the FX parameters with a pgm on my mpc 500.

I make the changes, save the program even over writing the samples.

reboot mpc, load pgm and none on the FX settings are there that I just previously saved.

any help out there?

is it just on saving programs?? have you tried saving "entire memory project" and the effects saved when you save this way??

I never thought of saving entire memory...

that makes sense
