I'm new to the 5000, but I've been using a 2500 for years. On the 2500, say you have some long samples in your sequence. When you hit stop to stop the sequence, you can quickly cut off those long samples that keep playing by hitting either the bar start/end buttons or mode-record. Neither of these methods seem to work on the MPC 5000 (running 2.0). There has to be a way to stop those long samples from playing all the way out when you stop your sequence. Anyone know? Thanks!

RTFM?

Page 4 of the F'ing Manual wrote:23. [STOP] Button:

This button stops playback and recording. Quickly pressing this button three times sends an 'all notes off' MIDI command stops all sounds from playing back.

Note: If your MPC5000 has a 'stuck note' or if a sample is ringing due to improper programming, you can always stop all sounds by quickly tapping the [STOP] button three times.
