Hey so (1) I can't get my notes/events to nudge in grid edit. I have overdub turned on but when I move the cursor to the note/event it does nothing when I turn the jog wheel. Am I missing something here? is this feature only for paid versions of JJ OS?

Also, (2) with the 3.10 free JJ OS for the 2500 is it possible to quickly move to the next note/event in grid edit? Like, when I record a 2 bar loop unquantized and I want to go into grid edit to move things, its on tha 96 tick grid. This takes forever to scroll thru with the jog wheel. I have tried holding shift and pressing 'next bar', but that just brings me to the next bar and Not the next note/event. Is this feature only for paid versions of JJ OS?

These two workflow bugs are really holding me back. I could work with step edit to do this, but I'm more visual and would rather look at the notes Im moving around. Any help for this is Greatily Appreciated!

Im Pulling my hair out trying to get this up and running :hmmm:

You have to select the note(s)

I am no expert on the free version although I think what you are looking for was added in OS2XL very fast way of advancing bars.

From manual"Movement of bars can be performed, if cursor is moved to the bar field and a DATA wheel is turned."Works in both main and grid.Hope this helps. Peace

Thanks for the replies!

So for the first question, how to nudge notes visually in the grid edit, TYPOs response makes it seem like you could stay on the grid edit screen, move the cursor to the note and then turn the jog wheel to move the note. this is exactly what i want to do. But, I'm thinking He's saying to select the note with 'tap tempo' and then the copy/move options become available. (ie. too many clicks to move a note, imo) :/

The second part with me asking if you can quickly move to the next note in grid edit, I'd read somewhere on this board on how to do it (hold shift and press 'next bar') but that doesn't seem to work either.

I guess it boils down to the Free OS being limited in these features. Still, hands down the best MPC software to have on your joint. .And, tbh, these are user issues that I can iron out as I get better at playing. I'm used to the latency of my computer that I forgot how to play a real drum kit with RAM loaded samples. I'm anticipating a lag from when I press the note, and it's instant now! :o

Have you tried it by yourself with hands on the MPC? Did you check all the links?

With JJOS2XL you can try for free :

Image
over dub=> go to an event => edit => - or + values right at the event position

For group of events :

Image
selection of events -> copy -> move

The event selected is +/-1-99 ticks movable.
(not the same for individual events)

Regarding question number 2, have a look at the JJ OS shortcut topic : http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=145831

Just forget about free OS
