I like the Novation boards myself, takes some time to remake some better Automap templates for VST's though. Always cool to have a ribbon controller handy.

I just use a Nocturn and a Launchpad from them though.

yep novation make some pretty nice stuff, wish the launchpad has some velocity sensitivity though.

Also placed an order for the istudio so it be arriving soon and I do a quick review.

That iStudio looks great and superior to the Alesis so I think you really made a purchase that solves about a half dozen iOS/MIDI issues all at once.

Yes the Launchpad's lack of velocity sensitivity is too bad. I had made a MIDI map where I divided the 64 squares into 4 MPC style sets of 16, and I really realized how great velocity would be. Still was fun to trigger loops and other things that are OK at 127 velocity though.

I mainly use it for Live and Max4Live patches, and Numerology occasionally on OS X.

I should find an iOS app that has a lot of button toggles and try the Launchpad with that.

I'll do those double checks on BM2 and Animoog today and PM you acronym. But I'm 99.9% sure you'll zero issues using the Novation, basically 100% sure if you use MIDI DIN cables. But as I mentioned I'm looking forward to using the iOS stuff more again, so it's good if I rewire it all and run some tests to make sure everything is still in order.

Do you have an MPC? I have 2 1k/2500 PGMS here that cover all BM2's 128 pads for the MIDI triggering, I could put them on Mediafire after I dig them out.

BM2 is great with proper velocity control on the pads.

Yeah mine seldom get used but I can't bring myself to sell them knowing I'll just want them again after I wave goodbye. It's been more of a table space issue lately than not wanting to use them.

Here's the 2 PGM's each covering 4 BM2 banks.

These will also double as a full chromatic layout over 128 notes too for anyone who needs to save the time it takes to set up that.

Anyone looking to create their own midi controller designs and functionally use them afterwards you can't get better than free right?! It reacts fast to finger movement also. Try it out maybe.

Nah Lamp, I meant like a synth app or something that has mad buttons, where velocity is not involved, just toggle. Then use the Launchpad to control thoise aspects of the instrument.

But you know I like even the non tactile touch control as well that the controller apps provide.

Just wanted to clarify what my potential plot with the LP is.

also anyone here own ielectric, any good? I was tempted by sampletank but some of the stuff sounds pretty cheese.

Sample tank seems cheesy to me too. The sounds just don't feel right.
Also the gui doesn't feel right to me either. I never use the app at all, it came with my irig midi.

Yeah IK Multimedia haven't updated their sounds in almost a decade. On the desktop VSTs I have to run them through a ton of FX/sound morphing plugins if I even use them at all.

Their amp sims are the only decent thing they really produce.

Yeah I'm glad someone agrees, I'm thinking of getting the ielectric want more Rhodes in my life.

I have iLectric and NeoSoul Keys.
iLectric is nice. its got made presets from all sorts of classic electric pianos (whirly & rhodes and clavs etc) then it can easily be changed with the knobs for basic effects and tone. its clean. really clean but nice. it can be dirtied up a bit within the app and pulling highs, mids down.

Neo Soul Keys is dirtier with all sort of nuances and cabinet, key lifts, releases and hammer noises all controllable from knobs within the app. the in app purchases are wack though. free download but every 5 minutes ads to buy pop up.

On the other hand (free hand) midi controller pro is free right off the bat, I'd say it can give my main app a run for the money.
