okay so I have some VST's that I'm using inside the REN. They load up just fine, but now what I want to do is play the drum samples on the pads of the REN, but I can only play them on my MAX49 which is running into the REN. I'm lost. Any suggestions? I wanna be able to play them on both.

Try assigning a particular MIDI channel to the VST (like e.g. CH4), adjust the corresponding setting on the piece of hardware (set it to output to CH4, too) and head on to it. If you focus on the drums in the MPC software you should be able to trigger them via the pads while your keys control the VST.

Hope that helped.

Maybe i should rephrase my question. Okay, so the VST that I'm using has drum samples inside of it. I can play those drum sounds on the keys of my midi keyboard but not on the pads of the MPC. If that makes any more sense.

What are the specifics, what plugin are you using, have you tried triggering each pad bank, do you have 16 levels selected, ect.

I switched the pad banks and everything works fine. Thanks man.

No problem, I'm glad that everything worked out for you.

Excellent :)

Yep, and you can have one instance of Battery 4 controlled by several tracks, i.e.
track 1 = kick drum
track 2 = snare
track 3 = shaker
ect.....
