I have been using the Akai s950 and i havent made a beat using it in like 3 months, so I kinda forgot what i was doing haha.

I have my turntable mixers master outs going to front of Akai s950. I can record into the machine, however I cant hear anything before I record it.

I have a Yamaha MG series sound mixer and i am tracking using the 1-8 outs on the s950 / midi thru mpc 2000 and can hear everything fine. However I cant seem to get sound from the turntable/ cant hear what i am about to sample. I know the answer is right under my nose, and its really frusterating :WTF: do i need rca to dual 1/4 inch into mixing console?

You can only monitor the sound using the "Mix out" jack

have you turned the MONITOR volume knob on the front while using the MIX OUT output?

Yes I have done that. I have a cable going to my "mix out" to a channel on my mixing board and have a bunch of variations. I can't seem to find use in the monitor knob on the front of the 950

Have you tried connecting to just ONE of the inputs on your 950? One is for mic level input and th other is for line level input.

Also when you sample you can select how you monitor, it's on one of the rec pages.

Yes I have tried all of the above..Still can't seem to figure it out, I have been getting by by using my stereos RCA to booth but sucks I can't hear my beat and scratch on top of it
