OK, before you say it, it adjusts latency, obviously!

But what is the purpose, what is it offsetting, which way is it offsetting, how/why is the default setting chosen (75 milliseconds below?), etc.?...

Page 88 of the 'manual' wrote:Parameters of the Audio Tab

The Latency Adjust parameter is for setting an offset in milliseconds in case there is a delay in your audio system.

-> If you are hearing any latency, we recommend experimenting with this setting after you set your Audio Buffer Size.

The manual actually says that it is offsetting in milliseconds, not samples.

dazastah wrote:Hey Simon Why doesn't your raydat card show audio buffer sample size?

I suppose it is because the audio buffer size can only be set from within the RayDAT control panel, and not from within MPC Software preferences.

If you click on the blank MPC Software Audio Buffer Size field, the empty drop down list says (no choices).

EDIT: After a little playing around, it seems to have a problem displaying a buffer setting of 32 samples within MPC Software preferences. It does display the correct buffer setting, as selected in the RayDAT control panel, at higher buffer settings, such as 64 samples and more. Maybe that is as low as the Renaissance goes, so that is all it is programmed/tested to display correctly?

Spend time playing with it to see if it improves performance. I keep the default settings (which is not 75 as seen in the pic).

That is a really useful answer to the questions above, thanks.

Yay, good for you (it changes with sample rate, buffer settings, and possibly other parameters such as audio driver type).

I could be completely wrong but it seems like I remember years ago that you would use this for certain plugins when your Daw did not have delay compensation or for certain plugins that your Daw could not properly compensate for added delay, like I said I could be completely wrong.
