MPC 500+Keyboard+NI Kontakt

Here's my setup:
MPC 500 Midi Out going into USB MIDI/Audio interface input
USB Interface into Macbook running NI Kontakt
MIDI keyboard Output into MPC 500 MIDI Input

I'm trying to multitimbral stuff using kontakt as my module, now I have no problem controlling multiple voices/instruments from the MPC itself but no matter what MIDI channel my track is set to on the MPC, the keyboard only triggers MIDI Channel 1. I've had this exact same setup working with a 2500 and it works perfectly, so I'm assuming its a settings problem within the MPC. Any suggestions???

Maybe Soft thru on your MPC500 is set to 'On', which will send the incoming MIDI data out using the same MIDI channel it comes in on, rather than 'As track', which will send the incoming MIDI data out the MIDI channel that the chosen MPC track is set to?
