Newbie who needs basic help please.

Hi,

I've never used an MPC before and I'm finding it impossible to
sort out.

I've bought the 8 analogue out. I want to be able to simply record a
kick through out 3, a snare through out 4, hi hat through out 5 etc.
At the moment, I only have 16MB of RAM so I have to load up
individual samples for the kick, snare etc from different parts of my
hard drive. I'm having trouble with them all playing at the same time
because of this. Could anyone please take me through the steps
required to do all this?

Or could anybody tell me how I could also get a set of single samples and
create a new drum kit to be able to hit all these individual samples
at the same time?

You can't record samples through the individual outs if that's what you are asking about. You assign pads to each out and the samples will be played through those individual outs. You can only sample through the sample inputs. To assign the outs, go to the drum mix screen.

Save your sounds as a program once you have them loaded where you want them, then just load the program and all will load at the same time.

You should read the manual if you haven't done so, it will answer allot of your questions.

Thanks for the tips. For some reason, I just can't get my head round the manual. I've bought tons of things and managed fine with them, but my mind is just blocked out to understand the manual. Maybe it's because I don't really know most of the sampling terminology in the first place and I can't carry through the basic knowledge needed. Strange. Thanks anyway.
