Hi everyone,
Can you help with my sysex problem? I record a sysex dump from Virus TI synth to MPC1000 across MIDI - record in a separate sequence with no other data, record at 30bpm - seems to work fine. Then when I play this sequence back through to the synth (still at 30bpm), here's what happens:
- The sequence begins playing
- The synth registers that a sysex dump is coming through
- The synth switches to the correct sound patches
- The MPC appears frozen - no buttons respond
- The synth remains receiving sysex info, even though all patch changes have already taken place
- After 1min or so, the MPC comes back to life
So the sysex dump 'works', but is unusable for live applications, which is what I bought my MPC1k for.
I've tried unplugging all of the other MIDI cables in case they are causing some kind of a loop, but the problem persists.
This also happens in JJOS free version.
Is there anything I can do? A workaround or something? At the moment this problem is making me think I won't be able to use my MPC.
Thanks everyone,
Bob
