Wrong file

Hey everybody!
I know this topic has been up a couple of times (many) but i think i have tried nearly everything, and gotten nowhere. I am trying to move a sample to a cf card. As it has been pointed out a million times, i know that the sample rate needs to be 44.1kHz and the bit depth to be set at 16 bits. Otherwise the file name needs to be less than 16 characters and in windows format. My setup is the MPC1000 with the free version of JJOS, and a macbook. I have tried lots of audio editing programs (Ableton live, Audacity, Switch, MediaHum) but nothing seems to work for me.

Somebody got an idea of what am doing wrong or a functional converting program?

may be a dumb question... but is it a WAV file?

if so... is the WAV file the right kind of WAV file [should be PCM]?


you mention it's "windows format" which should mean that in theory... but you never know.


what exactly are you doing and when/where are you getting the error?

Yes, its a .wav file, i get the error when i try to load the sample on my MPC. The most promising program is Switch in which i can choose the "PCM" format, but i still cant load them on my MPC.

To not waste anyones time, i've decided to try another cf card tomorrow, it could be the problem. It has been acting weird. I'll return with the result...

Okay, so today i tried another CF card and it didn't work either, i tried to transfer the exact same sample via the USB to the hard disk in my mpc and it loaded with no problem. Guess I'll just keep the cable with me another time...

have you tried formatting the CF card within the MPC first?
