SOLVED: 9GB Sample Library Location?

I bought a REN a few weeks back and am just setting it up now. However, I cant seem to find where the 9GB of samples was installed? Since the OS version in the box was v1.0 (which I didnt bother to install) I just went to Akai and download the v1.4 update.

Installed v1.4 update
Installed all 4 expansions from CDs/DVDs in the box
Ran the v1.4 updater on all expansions
Launched and activated the MPC

I found the Akai/MPC folder (Library/Application Support) on my Mac. However, when I got INFO on the Content folder it was 671.8MB total. Inside it were 3 folders; The Wub, The Noise, and The 808.

Arent there suppose to be MPC kits and samples as well as The Bank instruments and samples?

In your Mac, locate your Mac's Documents folder. Inside that folder, there should be another folder labeled MPC which contains drum kits, loops, Rex files, etc if you installed the library content.

Edit - I made an error. The MPC folder I referred to is the location of your projects. The actual MPC Library should have been installed on your hard drive --> Library --> Application Support --> Akai. You should see a 'Content' folder or two folders indentified as /MPC Drum Content' and 'MPC Loop Library'.

Got an MPC folder there but it is empty. Perhaps I should un-install and re-install the entire lot. Thanks so much for all of your help. Akai should be paying you for the support your offering the members.

Helping Ren/Studio users get the most out of there MPCs is payment enough. I enjoy helping out....an MPC fanatic.

When you installed your MPC software from the original disc, there were 3 options (Install Driver, Install Software, and Install Content). 'Install Content' will install the MPC library.

Also...I made an error. The MPC folder I referred to is the location of your projects. You should see a 'Content' folder or two folders indentified as /MPC Drum Content' and 'MPC Loop Library'.

When the Bank is installed, it should also be placed in the 'Content' folder or someplace in that MPC folder. These 3 folders show 8.35 GB of content on my hard drive.

You have to install the disc that came with it, the update is simply just that, an update. You should install the os from the disk with all content then update if you want those sounds.

Are we Talking about the factory drum kits from the old mpc s ?

Or is there more content?

Can you post one file name inside the content ? I m gonna let windows search for...

It contains legacy MPC drums, new drum kits, rex loops, and wav loops.

I figured this out. Since I didn't install off of the v1.0 disk, I never saw the 'content' installer as part of the at disk. Duh!

On the Bank installer the 2nd part of the installer (the content) never launched and hence was never installed. Seems like a bug in the installer script.
