Hi! i recently bought an ssd and updated my mac software and am now trying to install the mpc software.
I installed the 1.1 version but when i try to update to 1.2 or 1.3 or 1.4 the installing process is stuck at preparing installation and does not do anyting.
Any ideas?

What OSX version are you using? Are you using a Ren/Studio? Is the Ren/Studio driver installed.

It probably doesn't matter but...upon installing 1.1, did you register/authorize the software?

Hey!,
i am using osx version 10.8.4
Did manage to install the 1.1 but it was a mistake because i installed an update downloaded from the akai site and not the original software from the cd.

So i uinstalled it and tried with the cd.

But no luck...it gets stuck at preparing for download.
I had the software registered before i did the update to 10.8.4
Also i got the mpc driver installed, i am using the renaissance.

Please help me!
Thanks in advance!

So if I got this right you upgraded you Hard Drive to a SSD. Do you have the MPC software installed on your old HDD? If so, put 10.8.4 on it, then use a USB enclosure to clone the HDD to your SSD through disk utility.

I have 10.8.4 as well and it was a **** installing the MPC software. I had a different issue than what you're experiencing though.

I agree. I would ensure that OS 10.8.4 is installed on the SSD. I would also install the MPC software from the original CD/DVD. If it won't install, locate the Disk Utilities on OSX. Then create a disk image of the original CD/DVD of the MPC Software. Once the disk image is created, click on the disk image to launch the MPC installer. Load the driver first; you will have to restart your computer. Click on the disk image again then install the MPC Software and the MPC Content.

Ensure your MPC is registered/unlocked. Then install the latest 1.4 update.

How did you get it on a USB stick if you have no CD drive?

If it is not working, you should install from the disk or disk image. You may have to get a USB CD drive or create a disk image on another computer and transfer it to your lap top (if both computers are on the same network).

Got all the documents and copied them to my desktop.
But still no success!

I don't think they will work unless you create a disk image of your disks on your friend's Mac and then drag-n-drop that disk image onto a USB drive. I think this may be the issue. The disk image will be a single large file.
