Somehow, when i play the synth while the track is on drum program, the synth is playing normal.

but when i want to record the midi notes from the synth(kingkorg) and select the midi program, the synth sounds different, more loudness and reverb, maybe even not in tune no more....

anybody having the same problems?

This happens with my VST too (dimension pro) where the volume will be fine but when I stop it and press play again the volume will jump up really highland sound distorted. Actually I don't think it is the midi message 07 (volume) because even when I lower it I still hear distortion (at a lower volume), I will have to investigate it more thoroughly.
It would be nice if the Ren had a filter where you could select which midi information is being transmitted, wether it is midi notes or midi CC information.

i think if you read further it turned out to be that you just have to be mindful of the volume of the particular track you record that instrument on. by default the mixer volume in mpc is all the way up to ****. so just turn it midway before you start recording and its a done deal.

Even when I turn it down it still sounds distorted and on top of that after I stop it and start it again the sound jumps back up to max.

Same happens to me, a lot of my vsti's jump to max volume after pressing stop, and play again. Also my pans jump back to center. I usually have to figure out a work around to get the volumes right when this happens. Depending on the vst, sometimes I add a dynamic processor inside the vst where I can lower the gain there. Then I'm fine.

Yes they need to fix that, maybe we should make a list of plugins that produce this problem (Dimension Pro is the only on I've noticed).
I also think if they added a midi filter that would help out a lot too.

Well I'm cool with that, u make the list, i'll add to it for sure

I've had all sorts of problems using AU's, especially with notes sticking, so I just use vst format for now.

I've had this problem with kontakt 5 player, sampletank, sonik synth 2, philharmonik orch, samplemoog, sampletron, nexus, novation bassstation, and others I cant remember now

Ni massive, maschine, alchemy all work pretty good, cant recall if I ever had problems with volume jumping to max, or pans getting reset with these plug-ins.

im on mac 10.8.4
