Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hey, I'm having some problems with loading programs. I made a custom program in MPC Maid.

When I go to load the program on the MPC500, some of the samples don't load. I can load the samples fine individually but when I try to pull up a program some of the samples are not loading and I have to put them in manually.

Another problem I'm having is pad polyphony. I already set each pad to mono so that if i hit the same pad twice it starts over, but I want to make it so that if I hit one pad, then another pad the second pad cuts the first pad off.

Any help appreciated, Thanks.

Ok, I got the pad polyphony problem settled.

But I still have this program loading problem. I created a custom drum program so i can load up something quickly everytime i boot up my MPC500. Problem is when I go to load the program not all of the samples are loaded onto the pads.

I went and converted each sample to 16-bit depth and 44khz speed manually, and the same thing is happening

Any help much appreciated.

Load those samples up in a computer wave editor or something and re-save again as 44/16. Then load them back into the mpc.

Ok, I got the samples loading with the program now. I think it may have had something to do with MPC Maid but when I edit and save the drum program within MPC500 it seems to load fine now.

Really appreciate you taking the time out to help.

The manual is a bit of a technical nightmare lol but I will try to be more patient with it tomorrow.

Yep, no problem. It's the same thing I do when I have a rogue sample. I open it in Sound Forge, resave as 44/16, no matter if it was the same format, I do it again anyway and it has ALWAYS worked for me.

You didn't mention mpc maid before. When you need help try to explain every little detail so that others don't have to guess and possibly get frustrated right along with you ya dig.

You did what you thought was gonna do but you didn't know what was happening so it didn't happen even though you thought it did. Thats why you should take off your shiny little spongebob shoes before attempting to operate machinery.
