What DAW are you currently using with the Ren/Studio?

I've mostly been using it standalone mode. Used it a few times in pro tools but the transport is a little annoying so I just dump tracks into pt then master later, tried it with ableton and logic and seemed to work pretty good with the transport.

I work with Cubase to route my audiotracks, transports work good.

If the MPC plugins had multiple channel and pad to midi I would do everything in Cubase. For now I just create song in standalone and mix/bounce them in cubase.

Pro Tools 10 and Logic Studio 9.

Deciding this weekend if I should go with Pro Tools 11 (downloading 30 day demo) or Logic X.

When producing I am using the MPC as the centerpiece with synths played in Reason via MIDI Clock sync plus outboard synths and samplers going straight into the mixer.

When the song gets finally mixed Ibounce all MPC and Reason content. Then I use Logic as a ReWire master and Reason as a slave, while doing most of the work in Reason but tracking in Logic to add some AU FX if necessary. I also master in Reason.

Plug-in mode is uncomfortable in two ways: Sampling directly into the Ren and getting MIDI tracks from the Ren plug-in to Reason (even with two interfaces) are both impossible; only workaround is to use Reason as a MIDI Clock slave, which adds a wee bit of latency and a major bit of MIDI cables.

I use Reaper and everything works very well.

I use it in Cubase 5 but really don't like how it 'feels' in there. I have Reaper but haven't got around to learning it properly but if it works 'very well' in there I might just have to make that my go to DAW for the MPC at least.

i m a long time cubase user just jumped on version 7...

but i also own reaper which i think is a genius daw...much much underrated...!!way more flexible then cubase or protools...

i also bought reason second hand but i just use it as a instrumentrack via rewire...

also flstudio when it was in sale....

i mostly use cubase...

but i got my workflow templates in reaper...

I really like Logic X, but is it true that Logic only uses AU? I couldn't get a vst to load then it hit me that logic probably uses au only.

REAPER 4! lots of reaper love in here LOL.

I'm running Logic X with MPC as a plugin. This allows me access to all of my MIDI gear without any virtual "daisy-chaining." I'm REALLY liking the new Logic X MIDI Plugins routed to my external gear. Sometimes Ill open MPC in standalone just to mess around.

Forwerd how does the external midi plugin work with the Renaissance? Can you slave Logic X to the Ren?

If I can jump in, here's a few things that I like about Reaper that other Daws may not necessarily have.
1) the low price ($50), and you get 2a full incremented versions (ex. Version 4.00-5.99)
2) Virtually everythings's customizable from the contextual menus to the Daw skins, you can create your own custom key commands, you can create your own plugins, you can even set a custom pow to whatever number you want (which allows you to get whatever feel/groove you want). And more.
3) The routing capabilities surpasses any Daw out there (you can do some crazy things).
4) everything's non-destructive, so whatever you do in Reaper once you close it and re-open it then every single thing is accessible unlike in some Daws where certain things are permanently changed once you close your Daw.

There are a bunch of things, this is just a few.

I sequence my external gear with an External MIDI tracks in Logic and use the MPC as a plugin. And yes, when the MPC software is use as a plugin it automatically syncs with the host DAW. I'm really liking this setup.
