Sample Rate

Hi MPC Users,

i'am pretty new to this forum and i'am looking forward to receive a mpc 500 next week. Now I got a very basic question. I tried to use the search function in the forum but no success. Iam sure this question is not new. I'am sorry.

In the Manual of the MPC 500 i found this:

"The MPC500 supports 16-bit samples at any sample rate (audio imported at sample rates higher than 44.1k is automatically downsampled down during playback)"

This means i can load samples with 8khz / 22khz into the MPC? I asking because i have seen some reviews of the machine in which there was mentioned the mpc 500 can only take 44 khz samples.

I've never tried loading samples with different sample rates, but I think it's best to stick with loading 16bit 44.1khz files. If you have a bunch of samples at another sample rate, you should be able to convert them all to 44.1khz using this program - http://www.macroplant.com/adapter/ It's freeware and is available for both Mac & Windows. So convert them there first before loading into the MPC500.

Cheers! Yeah, I did that about 10 years ago. A simple 3D animated backdrop with logo exploding done in a Flash animation program called Swish.
