What DAW are you currently using with the Ren/Studio?

don t be afraid ...it looks a bit ugly and the price is really low but it s a fully daw ...only thing has been left out are the endless gigs of sample content...
they don t have marketing budget but a great user forum...

there is good tutorial that shows you how to work with it from groove3

I'm currently using Sonarx2 but will be switching to DP8 Windows...
My problem is that i don't have time to really learn all of this software the way I should because I've been working musically all summer and when I'm not on somebody's stage I'm learning material.
But anyway, I digress... Has anyone tried out DP8 yet with the Renaissance?

I use the MPC studio as a plugin inside Logic Pro x.. But I also have almost every plugin known to man.. so it really makes for the ultimate setup once you get all your drums and templates in order.

Anyone using Studio One? How do you like it? I've been eyeing this DAW for a while now and after demoing it I really like it, very simple to use, lots of shortcuts, great workflow. I love PT because I love the sound quality I get when bouncing my masters out. Just worried about the sound engine in S1, does studio one have good sound quality. I remember using ableton and I noticed when I boucned out a master the sound quality wasnt even near PT or Logic. Supposedly Ableton 9 improves on the sound engine but you know what I mean. Assuming you've done a decent job of mixing n mastering, how do tracks sound bounced out of studio one?

I don't know. I've heard praises about it and complaints about it.
That's why I don't listen to all the whining. I like to form my own opinions. They complain on the motif forum, the korg forum and the rolandclan forum, just as they do here. There will always be a group of

True but it's a new arena for them doing the Windows platform.
Used DP years back with a DTP and 2408 and it ran fine on the Mac but always had little issues using the MOTU hardware with Windows.
They eventually improved the Windows drivers so I kinda see them have to work out the kinks in this case as well.
Just not sure I would be brave enough to run the gauntlet in the early stages.

Studio One's sound quality is great. Many say that it is superior to other DAW's.

IMO, S1's work flow is more intuitive and easier to create music.

I've used Logic for 10 years and Pro Tools for 7 years...Studio One is now my favorite.

Is it possible to tell the difference in sound from one Daw to the other Daw? I tried to tell someone (from some software company, I don't remember which company) that you can tell the difference in sound between different Daws and it was explained to me that since everything is being mixed in 64bit that there should not be a difference in sound. I always felt that Sonar was brighter sounding than other Daws, I felt Pro Tools had a medium high mid range presence, and that Reaper had a lower mid range presence.
Maybe I'm tripping and you really can't hear a difference, what do you all think about it.

I would imagine that every daw has a slightly different sound at the end of the day because of the different ways that different daws process the sound, also the way people use them and how, different eqs and compressors in different daws etc.. Unless someone is bad at mixing it's probably hard to tell by ear but I'm just assuming this. In the end I'm sure most daws sound pretty much the same basically.
