I'm not fluent in XML though I do just fine at editing whats already there. I'm doing some reading now and trying to get a deeper understanding of it's capabilities.
I'm curious about the possibility of dynamic GUI creation.
Where the graphics could change based on a QLINK or other information source. Is it possible to do any type of "if, then, else, or else if" type statements? Basically my idea would be that a part of the GUI would change based on either a QLINK or information received from a VSTI. This would allow XML graphics for synthesizers that are not necessarily static (ones that you can pick different oscillators, fx, etc).
If you were able to base it on QLINK information alone then you could also create dynamic pages that change depending on QLINK position. Also can XML be a bi directional communication?
It's a long shot but maybe someone here knows if any of this would be possible with XML.
To sort of simplify....
I want to create an If then type statement that is something like: If this control is in this state show graphic1.jpg, else show graphic2.jpg (for example).
Maybe this is beyond the scope of XML since it's not a programming language...
Cheers!
