Files from old 2000xl to new 1000

Hello everybody,
tonight I've loaded some files used some years ago on a 2000xl and I've taken into my last Mpc, model 1000. I have a problem with an All Programs file, the Mpc 1000 can't load it because the file is too big, as is written in the led.
Please let me know if I can try something to load this file. I have the JJos16 on my 1000.

I'm guessing what you meant was you have JJ Free and only 16MB of RAM coming from an XL that had 32MB of RAM.

If you do need more RAM get any notebook RAM matching this spec - PC 133 144PIN CL3 SODIMM 256MB

The "CL3" is the most important thing. You might come up on a stick that is not labelled CL3 and it is CL3, but if it's not the RAM won't work. So best to just make sure it says CL3. These sticks are like $10.

If I recall correctly, XL stuff loaded on a 1000 has to be the PGM and a MIDI/SEQ file loaded separately. I don't think the XL "ALL" file will load properly.

I've done a mistake in my explanation: I've loaded without problem the PGM file with all the sounds, the real problem is the All sequences and songs file, that cannnot be loaded by the Mpc 1000, it's named "ALL_SEQ_.ALL" and it is 1,07 mb, when I try to load the Mpc tell me that is too big, so I can't load it. I have another memory card and there was another sequences file, It was 154 kb but I don't have problems with this one. Please let me know.

i've been doing exactly the same thing this weekend. unfortunately you cannot load the ALL (Sequence & Songs). You will have to save each seq separately and load them up individually (or you could construct one long song on the XL and transfer that to the 1000.

attack, decay and filters are a bit messed up, fairly easy to resolve.

The issue I am having is to do with volume settings....

Thanks. I haven't the 2000xl, I've sold it two years ago and in april of the current year I've bougth my 1000. I will do the song by the ear listening to the old record made by the 2000xl.

As you can understand the sequences is this song are a good number, I think thirty or more. So, someone should send me back a lot of MID's, and I don't want to ask a similar courtesy; there's also the possibility of join together the sequences in a single song but then with this way it could be more difficult to change a single part (If i would).
I would like to record this song again because as you can see the timbre of the Mpc 2000 is more dull than the 1000, besides the 1000 have a great equalizer that I never used on the 2000 (and I don't remember if there's an equalizer into the 2000).

In fact I prefer the quality of the Mpc 1000. The only defect compared to the 2000 is the lack of the timer in the "Song", so in the 1000 you can have only the total number of the bars when you make a song whereas in the 2000 you can see also the amount of the sequences in minutes.
