how to get this drum groove swing :) i need your help

hey guys how are you ! hope y'all fine ))

so i'm using ableton and i want to know how to get the drum groove like in the tracks of elusive , samiyam ....
i know about shifting the hights to the right ====>
and shifting the the snare to the left <====
also the kick i can't get it to fit with groove

There is no golden rule. Shifting the hats to the right might work it with some grooves, but won't give it that swing on every groove.

Experiment with different quantise settings. Learn how to program drumtracks without quantise settings. Mix those techniques and settings for different grooves.

For example:
For beat A I quantise the snares tight on the 2 and the 4, shift the kickdrums a little bit to the right and program the hihats without any quantising.

For beat B I do some tight quantising on the hats, quantise the kicks with some swing settings and don't quantise the snares.

Or for beat C I don't quantise anything at all.

It really depends on the beat and the overall groove. It's the timing of each drumsounds in correlation with the timing of the other drum sounds that gives the groove it's swing. Velocity and ghost notes also plays a huge role in making drumpatterns melting together into one flowing and swinging groove.

Like I said, experiment. It's basically a process of trial and error.

play along with something witht he swing you like.. try and emulate it , etc.. feel it out

after you do that you can just record what you want to hear

play with velocity and try not using full level.

also try layering different patterns with slightly different sounds.

When it comes to Drums (or any advice in Beat Making) these are the two guys to listen too. They drop pure madness but my advice would be to keep the kick and snare drum pattern simple, the GROOVE is really achieved w/ the way you play your HI-HAT, EX.
