Well, i want to use the mpc to sequence to my other akai sampler and play the drums sounds from the sampler with the mpc pads. Problem is that when i assign the samples to diferent notes in the sampler with an order, when i get on the pads to play them they appear in a strange order thru the pads.. there seems to be no intuitive order in the pads relating with the midi notes (C3, C#3, etc). Is it possible to avoid this aparent "randomization" of the sounds thru the pads? its really annoying.

there's a function that will allocate the samples in semitones to the pads i beleive...i'm trying to load some samples that were for akai1000 and I think I have to use the function so that it will play multisamples ....as oppose to assign a note to each pad

All MPC note assignments have to be done manually - this is how I've dont it in the new sample packs. You have to renumber each pad individually first.
If you are playing samples from inside the MPC there are two ways to play them at different tuning, theres a Chromatic function somewhere or the 16Levels-Tune function.
Though, my problem is when i am playing external gear thru the pads. The pads are not in a intuitive order when compared to midi notes. It is like:
Pad 1 -> Note 37
Pad 2 -> Note 36
Pad 3 -> Note 42
Pad 4 -> Note 82
Pad 5 -> Note 40
etc..
And it would make more sense if it was like this:
Pad 1 -> Note 37
Pad 2 -> Note 36
Pad 3 -> Note 35
Pad 4 -> Note 34
Pad 5 -> Note 33
etc.
This way we could play the sounds thru a midi keyboard with the same order as the pads.

Why?
I have found that using a midi keyboard there is no reason to change the pad order. Kbbd-> non drums, pads->drums. Niether requires changing the layout of the pads. Not sure why one would create more work.

Well, unless you are using the MPC for multisampling, then changing the pad layout to run in midi note order means you can play your sounds via your keyboard and/or the pads without any problems.
