Every time a load a Saved Project theres missing samples.

Hey everyone, Im new to the forum and recently got my MPC1000 and I did read the manual, everything is going pretty well except one thing...

When I save a project I always create a new folder in the card for it and choose SAVE EVERYTHING/ALL including the samples, but when I try to load the project again theres always about 2 or 3 missing samples. Its very frustrating anyone knows why this happens?? Help will be really appreciated!

it sounds like you're saving properly... entire memory into a new folder... but when you're loading you should load the entire folder... just highlight the folder and load it.

Never tried loading the folder before, did it but im still missing the same samples . Maybe its a character issue the name of one sample is DHC_Jazz_Cut_01 for example. This is weird they even appear on the folder they were saved they just dont link to the pads..

Don't change filenames after saving, mpc is looking for the last saved filenames associated with the PGM.

What do you mean by everything in the same folder? My card is organized like this with these folders: ( ) = FOLDER
ROOT:

(DRUMS)
(HIP HOP) - (CHOPS)
(HOUSE) - (CHORDS)
(PROJECTS) - (NAME OF PROJECT)

im saving the entire project where is says name of project.

Im I doing it right?

No what they are saying is you save everything in a single folder without having additional folders within it.

Make a single folder named to identify the project and just save everything inside that folder.
Do this for each project.

The MPC can't read through folders so everything needs to be in a single folder.

Well now you did it right, but kiss those missing samples goodbye because they will never return.

I would recommend to save every time you make changes even if you trimmed a sample or adjusted a sample in a Program. Make it a habit.

MPCs are the only samplers that demand you to save constantly. My others saves it for me automatically during shutdown. Wished Akai jumped on that band wagon.

perhaps you aren't naming your programs... so you assign samples to the default PROGRAM01... but when you load, maybe you aren't using the CLEAR function to clear memory and replace the default blank PROGRAM01 with the one your assigned samples to... use the CLEAR function when loading.

If you look at what he post his problem is from creating seperate folders within a folder in an attempt to better organize his stuff.
Unfortunately that's not how the MPC hierchy works.

Thanks a lot I understand now! So there can be various folders but no folders inside them. Tomorrow ill try this and post the results thanks a lot everyone this forum has helped a lot!
