have you ever heard premo givin big ups to synth beat makers?? i haven't... i gotta agree with philly cause hip hop used to be so raw it just felt good back then and now its all watered down cause its so big and the record companies just want hit singles and garbage albums... i rather listen to some boom bap any day over some crunk or synth beat but maybe its cause i was born and raised in queens, ny... as far as cats still stuck on the old school you can take any beat from classic albums 92 and up that are sample based beats and they would still sound hot over a hot m.c today 12 years later.. just my 2 cents..

this whole discussion is kinda bogus...hip hop ain't about makin beats a certain way...that's like sayin jazz was only about playin like Charlie Parker or Louis Armstrong...people come in and do stuff different, that's life...a lot of people that don't make beats with synths don't realize that it is a lot to those beats...but at any rate to each his own, but u gotta make sure you don't be down talkin on what someone else likes...

yeah the chronic was hot but now cats get a triton hit 2 keys and call that ish a beat... dre samples and get musicians to play samples too even back then...

Listen Ice Cube and "Gangsta Nation" did it for me "Dre" is lengendary
if you got the chicks shakin their Buns and sons Rockin their Knots
who cares wether it's a synth or acoustic beat. I personally love synth
type beats and acoustic sounding beats as long as it makes me get
the ---- up and do something they have these people conditoned to
water and not the flame son when are we going to wake up and
smell the darn farts you guys need to listen to "Idris Muhammad"
he made a joint called "Could heaven Ever Be Like This" in 1976

And if you are wondering Iam 41 yrs old and I keep my ears to the street
son and I play classical music I dont extract samps from peoples tracks
they are taking alot of life and love out of hip-hop because they want
the easy way out meaning take the money and run I cant blame them
for pimpin son now a days it's either your being pimped or you are
prostituting yourself in some form or fashion they dont want to put
in the work make a quick beat give me my money and Im out type of
attitude hell I like Xibit too ---- DMX ,CeeLow,Goodie Mob,Scarface,
Outkast and my man the Ol D B for "I Like It Raw" they dont even
dance anymore really at least not IN NY the further south you go
they be poppin it chicks be comin out their gear.

sorry if Im long winded I have alot to talk about!
