I'm sure I mentioned this before, just can't remember where. But when I load a project that has plugins that can't be found, I would like to know exactly WHAT plugins can't be found. When this happens, the inserts just completely disappear and there's no way to troubleshoot why the effects aren't loading if you don't even remember what plugin it was or what track/pad/mixer it was inserted on and in what sequence. It would be nice if the inserts just became transparent like they do in Pro Tools when plugins are inactive. Whatever the implementation, just give us some kind of feedback!

Thats a great Idea. There has to be a better solution for how it behaves on scanning incompatible plugins.

This happened to me recently when I was sent a Ren project by a third party. What I did was open up the various xpm, xpj and seqeunce files in a text editor and searched for the text 'vst'. This will show all instances of vst plugins in a project (I assume you can do the same for AU etc). One of the result in the XPM file showed there was a specific Waves plugin applied to a pad insert.

1.5 should be the update to set the record straight. all the bells and whistles should be intact. The mixer issue should be straight. The duplicate of files should be delt with. Purge or what ever you need to do should be taking care of. 1.5 needs to be the breaking point for the mpc ren studio software. The handling of virtual instruments, controller mode, and stability. Flame me but audio tracks are too early to get into. The browser needs to be stepped up. If i'm looking for drums or snares, I shouldn't need to have a separate folder for it. We should be able to say the mpc ren studio is the software controller you need to have. Lets make it happen with 1.5 akai. It's time to set the record straight. Flame on. My 2 cents.

Seriously hoping to get more virtual outputs - like at least 32. 48 would be ideal IMO though.

I'm sick of using MPC Software inside daw. If it had audio tracks and a good mixer i guess i could start doing with it only.

This is one reason why I hung on to the MPC 2500 jjos.

Hey Pete, if you're reading this: I was wondering if it would be possible to implement something similar to the Remix function of Yamaha´s Motif workstations. It divides the MIDI data in a selected track into several pieces of a specified note length, and randomly rearranges a portion of the data. When Remix is used on a track containing a sliced sample voice, the various segments of the sample are also rearranged with varied timing. There are six different modes...

Normal 01 – 16: The divided data is only rearranged. 16 variations are provided.

Pitch 01 – 16: In addition to rearrangement of the divided data, some portions of the
data may be pitch-shifted. 16 variations are provided.

Fill 01 – 48: In addition to rearrangement of the divided data, some portions of the
data may be played with fill-in. 48 variations are provided.

Roll 01 – 16: In addition to rearrangement of the divided data, some portions of the
data may be played with a roll effect. 16 variations are provided.

Break 01 – 16: In addition to rearrangement of the divided data, some portions of the
data may be deleted to create breaks. 16 variations are provided.

Reverse 01 – 16: In addition to rearrangement of the divided data, some portions of the
data may be played in reverse. 16 variations are provided.

I´d buy a Ren in a minute! In the meantime, I guess I'll just have to stick with my XF6 w/MPD18.

I would absolutely love to do that. Expand on the mixer a little, have mapping for the mpk series since they have faders....Awesome Idea.

Say I have a kick pattern entered on a track. When I browse, I want the sounds Im previewing to apply to that pattern.

In other words, temporarily load it to the pattern I've entered, without having to load the sound up. That way, I can hear how it's going to sound in context.

U sould also be able to preview(audition) a sound on the pads, while the seq is playing
