Yes but this happens when I scan the vst in both 32 and 64 bit apps. OK I got it. Will do.

Is anyone having a problem with the Over Dub button not working on the Ren? When i click the button on the controller the LED over the REC button lights up. the only way I can use Over Dub is by clicking the button in the software.

Sounds like you have the Ren's transport mapped to your DAW versus Plugin. When you have 'Transport Control' set to Plugin, your Record and Overdub buttons should work in the MPC Software. When it is set to DAW, Record and Overdub buttons should work in your DAW.

Try it and report back if it works or not and include the DAW you are using and whether you are using VST, AU, or RTAS version of the MPC.

Thanks guys for those that sent me detailed info on how to repro these bugs as well as crash reports.

Please keep them coming (especially the crash reports) so I can send them to the developers to take a look at.

If you don't already have my email, send me a PM.

Jah i'm having an issue with my MPC Studio in plugin mode. I'm using it with Ableton Live 9 and sometimes Logic Pro 9 and when it's in plugin mode the transport controls don't work on the MPC software and that's in both DAW's. I don't know what I could have changed to make this happen but i'd like to figure it out ASAP since I cannot slave either daw to the MPC and have to use it as a plugin if I want to use it to create in my DAW. It also sometimes crashes when I try and slave Ableton to the MPC.

1. Launch your DAW of choice (Logic Pro 9 or Live 9)
2. Insert the MPC plugin on a Track; open MPC plugin GUI
3. Locate the 16 Pads icon (Main Mode); click the preferences icon to the left of it
4. Select 'Edit' --> 'Preferences' --> 'Hardware'
5. Ensure Transport Control is set to 'DAW'

This should work. If it doesn't, locate the MPC Help documents titled 'MMC Setup Control' and follow the step-by-step instructions for your specific DAW. Then ensure Transport Control is set to 'DAW' if you want the MPC transport to control your DAWs transport.

Jah that didn't work. The transport controls don't work when the plugin is loaded. I've messed around with the preferences and when plugin is selected, I hit play/start and record but the play button just flashes and the record but stays lit but it doesn't start recording unless I hit play in the DAW and under the preferences it's selected as plugin.

You are just in luck. I have Logic Pro and Live and will walk you through the process/confirm if it is a bug. Give me a few hours.

I have it working with Logic 9 [32 bit]

Things you should double check:
1. MPC plugin Preferences --> Hardware --> Transport Controls --> DAW

2. Logic --> File --> Project Settings --> Synchronization --> MIDI --> MIDI Machine Control --> Listen to MMC Input (check this box)

Results -
1. MPC Ren Play Start and Play works as expected. Rec & Over Dub button both puts Logic into record mode.

Jah this issue is when I have transport control set to plugin it doesn't record midi into the plugin. I've messed around with settings in both Logic (running in 64bit) and Ableton Live 9 and nothing seems to work. I can't record midi into the MPC plugin at all. When transport control is set to plugin under MPC preferences it will only start to record when I hit play in my daw, when a couple of weeks ago I could record midi straight into the plugin using the MPC's transport controls. I've messed around with preferences in both daws and the MPC. I've also reinstalled the 1.4 software and it still doesn't work

Can you break it down to what you specifically want to do and how you expect it to function?

This is what I can achieve in Logic (not sure without additional specifics if this is useful to you):
1. Setting MPC Sof Transport Control to 'Plugin'. [Rec] and [Overdub] buttons arm the MPC plugin to record

2. Enter Logic's Preferences --> Control Surfaces --> Controller Assignments. Here is where I can map the Ren/Studio's [Play] and/or [Play Start] and [Stop] buttons to Logic's (Play) and (Stop) buttons.

Results -
1. Press [Rec] or [Overdub] button on the Ren/Studio. This will arm the MPC Sof to record. The software's [Play] button will flash off/on. The MPC Sof is now waiting for a command from the DAW to start the sequencer.

2. Use your mouse to click Logic's (Play) button to start it's sequencer. The MPC Sof sequencer will sync'd appropriately. Or better yet...press the [Play] or [Play Start] buttons on the Ren/Studio. If mapped appropriately as detailed above, they will trigger Logic's transport. You will now be able to record into the MPC Sof sequencer while it is locked/sync'd to Logic's sequencer.
