mpc issue please help felling helpless here

i just bought a akai mpc 1000 from a guy i guess is the old model is red and blue
my problem is that when i insert the CF card and press mode - load it freeze.
the pins in the card reader looks fine. it also freeze when i startup the mpc with the CF card inserted it only shows 16mb installed and then freeze. whats wrong?.

i also tried insert the CF while in usb mode it could only find the mpc1000 card reader but not the cf card

i can't load CF CARD on my computer so i can't try install the os again

my mpc
have jj os 3.16 free version
16mb standard ram
just ordered maximum ram waiting for it to come home

That's real unlucky, I can imagine you are feeling awful.

I've got a 2500 and can't help with the CF reader problem. But there is always the Hard Drive option, which will hopefully bypass the CF issues.

I think you might be able to pick up a 80GB drive for the cost of 2 or 3 CFs anyway.
Hopefully with the free JJOS installed already the 1000 may load any updates to JJ if dropped onto the drive via USB. I found that it was only the Akai OS that needed the CF for Operating System .bin file to load.

There may be someone who can sort out your CF problem, but hopefully the Hard Drive option will make things seem a bit better.

Try to look inside the slot and see if any pins are broken. If so, you'll need a new part from MPCSTUFF.COM. If not, you might open it up and just see if the cable is loose.

everything looks fine also there could it maybe just be the cf card that is broken?
