Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Hi there,
Recently got to work teaching myself the mpc 500. My only
Previous contact with a drum machine is reason software. In reason
could shift a pad sound to the right or left. The only thing
I'm seeing maybe like this is shift timing, but the max shift is 96
Pulses and I would like to shift tracks in larger fractions of the beat.
I hope I'm overlooking something really intuitive to shift tracks
Within the sequence. Please enlighten me!
~THANK YOU~
Stella

Yes, 96 ppn is the max. There is Step Edit in the 500. There you can shift notes side to side. I suggest you should (like those **** on facebook. "Phil suggest you like Karen" Hey! **** Phil AND Karen!) use your ears to feel out the grooves instead of punching in numbers because thats how you gonna roll when you rock one of these.

Step edit -> select the event you want to move -> choose move ....

Manual page 46. Helpful?

bonus tip: in step edit scroll to the point in time you'd like to have the pad, hit overdub, hit pad. done.
