neither am I.. though they get points for making cheap priced analog stuff... but I am actually curious to see what those hacking modder people do with them. That is what im waiting to see videos about.

but yea i am interested to see what they do with this pieces too. seeing that the pcb boards are all labeled up just waiting for hacks and mods. will be interesting.

me neither... that's why im just looking forward to the video hahaha... I mean, the device's case doesn't have much real estate for adding too many more knobs on them or outputs or what ever you can do to those....

but yeah... im sure they will be made a bit more interesting by some of those hacks and circuit bending or what ever the hell those dudes do.


I just bought an ms2000 rack a while back for about half the cost of one of those units and haven't had time to use it yet..... (not that those are analog)

I just found out that a few people have gotten Volca's and that they paid extra for theirs. Unless the sweetwater rep is telling a lie, he just told me that people are paying $250 to $500 for their volcas and that there is a waiting list. The moment they come in they are going out to those on the list who paid more.

My response "$500 for all three?"

His response, "For one."

Has anyone who paid down $149.00 + tax for a korg volca received their unit yet?

This is BS if they are rationing them out.
Makes me think he is not telling the truth.

yeah I learned how terrible sweetwater and other sites are with preorders of newly released stuff when I got my minibrute last year.

Out of the like 5 or 6 sites I contacted asking for a real answer, whether I was likely to be able to get one by christmas, only one gave a non-general-copypaste reply. (front end audio — good customer service there). And I was able to get it for only $450.
Sweetwater pretty much just paraphrased exactly what's already on the product page for a preorder-able item. it's like "Thanks, you know, I had forgotten how to read when I first looked at the product page, it's good you filled me in".

If anybody is paying $500 for a Volca, they're maybe getting it sent from Japan and their high cost of shipping. Either that, or they've got money to burn. But it wouldn't suprise me if Sweetwater is milking this cash cow.

Just got my Beats from Musicians Friend yesterday. I paid $150, but I pre-ordered the first day I saw them about 6 months ago. I really have not had time to really get into it... But my initial thoughts are very good. The bass really does thump. I'll tell more once I get time to dive in... Gotta go to work

I feel this way also. I still think they're a bargain though for those who are into them.
