It's kinda like mixing live ... You try to keep all mixing channels the same for each band..
For the first band have 1-8 be the drums then 9 10 and 11 are the bass guitar and voks.. The rest of the bands basically have the same setup.. You wouln't then repatch those instruments to different channels each time as it would confuse the **** outta you creating more workload....
I like how the mpc is as it forces you to have nice house keeping manner....
This concept is good in terms of learning how to use a analog mixer before you use a daw.. Because you are forced to understand the idea of sends , busses and signal of flow..
PFF!!
Maybe im misunderdraning you. The Rens mixer is the direct opposite of an analog console, or any console ever made in the history of the universe for that matter. Put it like this : WHen the band have finished one song you dont have to franticcally reset and RE-eq, set up all the sends etc for the next song. But this what the Ren forces you to do because the Rens seqeunces are attached to its own mixer settings which is a stupendously stupid idea. It should of course have a global mixer unnatached from the seqeuncer
The design implemented in the Ren is from the MPC 60 which was designed for for basic midi volume changes - which nobody used anyway. But that is what Akai modled and implemented in the Ren for their far more advanced sequencer/arranger, VST host sampling workstation.
Not completely accurate. The MPC 60 as well as most MPCs do not have a Track Mixer. The Track Mixer in the Ren actually routes audio and not just MIDI volume changes. The Ren is the first MPC with Insert FXs on its mixer. But this discussion has been beat to death and at least one thread locked.
What is being discussed here is how the Song Mode functions. And they fact that if you want your Song to Export properly, you have to keep all the sequences lined up properly. This means if you put a Drum kit on Track 1, the same Drum Kit should be on Track 1 of all sequences. Otherwise, your Song will not Export properly.
All MPCs perform this way.....
