nice. haven't checked in on this thread for a while - got your PM, too, m56p87, so let's continue to use this as a center for discussion.
it's amazing how different our approaches to plogue are. i still haven't done any audio stuff with it. it will be perfect for when i expand my beatbox-to-midi concept beyond simple reaper plugins to something within plogue.
i want to repost something i created, which has changed the way i write melodies completely. it's the launchpad thing i mentioned earlier. i cut a lot of corners using Piz Midi vsts and ReaJS instead of doing the dirty work myself.
basically it sets the leftmost 7 columns of the central launchpad buttons to 8 scales of C major (which i then transpose to whatever scale i'm playing in), and the last column to speed of arpeggio. when you hold multiple pads, the notes arpeggiate in the order played. since the launchpad is not velocity sensitive, a separate slider on my Quneo controls note velocity/random velocity. a control button turns off the arpeggio, if desired.
i'm not exaggerating when i say that this has completely changed my approach to composition. i no longer use a traditional keyboard controller, in favor of playing "the grid."
i still haven't achieved a MLR monome-esque patch yet, but my need for it is diminishing.
