SAMPLING

Does it matter if i sample on the MOTIF ES or MCP200XL.

Excuse me..............??????

If both instruments can sample ........ why do you think it might be a problem to use one or the other as a sampler?

They are both samplers, that's what they do.

i wouldnt think so

sample the same sound into both machines and compare the pros/cons of each sound engine..

I have both and I prefer the mpc for my drum samples and most of my one hit sampling, I am alot more comfortable with how the mpc works. However
if you have a computer and sound forge you can chop up your samples after
recording them into you computer and load it into the Motif Es and spread em all up and down the keys. What i tend to do now, is record my records into
the computer open in sound forge find the wave form I want , chop it up
ad effects etc. save it to my external hard drive and then load into the Motif.
Sometimes I just might resample it straight from the computer being that
my computer is routed to my mixer and everything that's sent to my mixer can be sampled. I wish the motif was out years ago because I have a lot of samples that are on zip disk that I would like to load into the motif but it's too much work trying to resample everything plus some of my samples came off c-d's that I no longer have or gave away or just forgot about , f-what you heard some people might think sampling off c-d's is wack but you get what you put into your creativity. If i hear a sound I like to use no matter what the format is it's mine !

I dont sample on the motif. i use my MP or SP

I do this with CD's ALOT, SF is my bestest friend. My MPC loves the way SF always feeds it with quality samples.

thanks for the input, you too lampdog and One-D. I also think CD's would be cool too not just records. Plus we have better access to CD's.

All you other cats who didn't really understand my question and always trash talking when someone ask something- F**k yall. Cuz it be catz like yall who cant make a hit but been doing this sh** fa years.

Yeah, cd's are easier to rip from, digital rip, right inside the computer too. Can't beat that. Crystal clear (i like it that way)..
