Screen fading away on startup

Sometimes when I power on my mpc1k the usual start up screen and animations come up but then it starts to fade away.
I've noticed it happen when it's cold in my room or I've been using it alot.
Do I need a new LCD?
Bought it recently, used from a Guitar Center.

holding shift and the jog wheel doesn't bring it back, only further fading out

You could try a new screen. That's what I would replace first.

I´m sorry for bringing this old topic back up, but this is the only one I´ve found talking about the problem I´m having right now.
Did you find a solution for this? Did changing the screen solve it, or was it an electrical problem?
I´ve opened my mpc 1000 looking for a bad condenser but they all seem to be fine.

mine doesnt fade slow like that but yeah, my guess is the power supply. and yes thats the part. can you buy only one of those from that site?

I'd contact mpcstuff or jazzcat and ask first before buying anything. Just do a google search on those if they're not familiar to you.

Heyyyy thank you guys, problem solved! I asked Jazzcat and mpcstuff.com and they both recommended changing the lcd, since it was the cheapest thing that could be causing the problem. After changing it for a new one everything works great.
