MPC & Battery control help needed

Can somebody give step by step instructions on how to control battery with an mpc 2500??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've searched youtube and come up empty and here as well

Download this empty (Chromatically ordered) Battery template. (It has 64 cells, and 4 banks, MPC/MPD bank buttons will work to change banks/cell rows in Battery with this template)

Load it in Battery. Make you own kits in Battery by loading the library cells or you own samples. (Battery's stock kits follow a GM drum map. To use those just make an MPC PGM following the standard General MIDI Drum mapping, set it to MIDI out and save it.)

If Battery is standalone go to MIDI preferences and activate whatever MIDI interface ports your MPC is connected to.

Do the same thing as above if Battery is hosted as a plugin in a DAW. Activate whatever MIDI ports the MPC is connected to in the DAW's MIDI preferences.

Following the instructions on the Akai website for your MPC+DAW to set up a proper MIDI sync using MIDI clock or MTC to go all the way in having the MPC and Battery perfectly synced.

Send/Record the MPC's MIDI out to Battery's MIDI track in your DAW.

Thanks!! I figured it out, i didn't have the tracks on the mpc set to midi. Duh!! I know, bu tthanks anyway, i'm sure this couldn't hurt.

The template should save you tons of time. It's actually way easy to use a blank one that perfectly matches the MPC's banks and pads rather than use the factory battery kits where the number of pads vary wildly and are mapped to GM drum layouts.

The Battery library has all the pieces of the factory kits separate as cells with all the settings on a per cell basis, and you can save your own samples to the Battery folder with all the settings too.
