Greetings everyone and I'm a relatively new MPC 3000 owner who is still learning the ropes on this...
To provide a quick overview, my MPC has 3.11 and originally came with a external SCSI / Zip drive. After messing around with that, I recently bought an external Cf reader which is working fine for me and my MPC is seeing.
The one missing puzzle that I've been trying figure out is how I can transfer samples onto my cf card and then play them on my MPC. I bought a pack of drum machine samples from Akai's site which are made up of .pgm and .wav files.
Now I've searched multiple threads on this and never found one that fit the exact concern or either was outdated due to recommended software being unavailable.
My problem is this...when I insert a MPC formatted Cf card into my PC (VIsta), it prompts me to format it and doesn't recognize it which is to be expected. But what do I need to do to get a non-MPC formatted card with my sounds o be readable by my MPC?
I know there were suggestions to use a dedicated "transfer" card but right now I just want to be able to successfully get my samples into my MPC. Has anyone done this before and if so, do I need program (MPCEditor, Chicken Translator) or a different PC OS (XP, etc.)?
I feel I'm so very close and am appreciative of any and all help. It's been quite a learning process so far and I'm grateful a resource such as this forum once I figure out this process.
